Guitar Lessons for Kids in Lower Hutt

"How old does my child need to be?"
This is a question I often get asked. A child should be at least 6 years old before starting lessons. Some children may be ready earlier. Key things that determine this age are reading ability, attention and co ordination. Younger kids may benefit from my Ukulele lessons as a stepping stone to guitar. The easiest age for lessons seems to be from ages 8+.
What my lessons do
My guitar lessons focus in on giving children a steady progression of new and interesting songs to play. Your child will learn a multitude of skills that every guitarist needs to know, and practical skills for playing and creating their own music. With my lessons kids move through learning melody and chords, to theoretical understanding of song structure, and into solo techniques to jam over top of any song!
